Trust and Safety

Who you welcome into your family's life matters. Finding the right caregiver should be about more than availability, experience, or a good first impression. When you're trusting someone to support your loved one, we understand the significance of the decision.

At Allies for Allies, trust and safety are thoughtfully built into how caregivers join our platform and how families connect with them. Our goal is simple: to give families more information, more confidence, and greater peace of mind throughout their care search.

A Thoughtful Caregiver Screening Process

Before caregivers are approved for the Allies for Allies platform, they go through a customized screening process designed to help us learn more about who they are, their background, and their experience.

Our team personally reviews publicly available information for caregiver applicants, which may include online and social media searches, professional and certification directories, staff or organizational directories, and resumes or additional supporting information when needed.

Comprehensive Background Checks at No Cost to Caregivers

Allies for Allies covers the cost of comprehensive background checks for caregivers on our platform. Our multilevel screening process goes beyond a basic background check and includes identity and Social Security number verification, address and alias history, nationwide criminal database searches, county courthouse searches, sex offender registry searches, state and federal criminal record searches, federal sanctions and exclusion lists, and national and international watchlists.

These checks provide families with an additional layer of information when considering potential caregivers.

Experience That Goes Beyond a Résumé

Care needs are personal, and meaningful experience doesn't always come from a traditional job title. Caregivers within the Allies for Allies community have professional and/or lived caregiving experience supporting individuals with unique care needs, and we recognize the value of both.

What matters is finding caregivers who understand that individualized care requires patience, respect, dependability, and a willingness to learn the unique needs of the person they support.

Your Personal Information Deserves Protection, Too

Safety isn't only about who has access to you or your loved one. It's also about who has access to your personal information.

Personal information shared through Allies for Allies stays within our platform and is available only where appropriate. Job postings are visible only to approved caregivers and Allies for Allies administrators. Only approved caregivers can apply to available jobs, family and individual information isn't publicly available for anyone on the internet to browse, and our messaging tool helps keep communication within the Allies for Allies platform.

Screening Is the Beginning, Not a Guarantee

No background check or screening process can eliminate every possible risk, and we never want to create a false sense of security. Our screening process is designed to provide additional layers of information so families and individuals can make more informed decisions about the people they welcome into their lives.

We encourage families to ask questions, discuss expectations, interview caregivers, check references when appropriate, and make the final decision based on their individual care needs and comfort level.

Care Is Personal. Trust Should Be, Too.

Families aren't simply searching for someone to fill a shift. They are looking for someone who may spend time in their home, learn routines, support deeply personal needs, and become part of everyday life. This deserves a thoughtful process.

At Allies for Allies, we're committed to creating a community where families can search for care with greater confidence and transparency. Finding support shouldn't mean lowering your standards for safety. It should mean having an ally in the search.
